Dedicated Revenue Cycle Management in Tennessee
Mediknocx runs the revenue cycle for Tennessee practices from eligibility checks to final payment. We're built around the payers that shape your cash flow: BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BCBST), which holds about 42% of the state's commercial market, and TennCare, where every physician claim goes through one of three managed care plans on a 120-day clock.

Dedicated Revenue Cycle Management in Tennessee: TennCare Claims Run on a 120-Day Clock
TennCare claims go to the member's assigned MCO (BlueCare Tennessee, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan, or Wellpoint Tennessee), not to the state. Under TennCare policy PAY 13-001, providers generally have 120 days from the date of service to file. When a patient's eligibility is approved after the visit, the clock starts on the date the MCO learns of the enrollment instead, which makes retro-eligible claims easy to lose track of.
Commercial claims move even faster. Tennessee's prompt pay law (Tenn. Code Ann. ยง 56-7-109) gives insurers 21 calendar days to pay, partially pay, or explain a clean electronic claim, and 30 days for paper. Late payments owe 1% interest per month. Insurers also can't deny a resubmitted paper claim for missing documents you already sent, so good records of what went out, and when, protect your revenue.

The Full Revenue Cycle We Manage in Tennessee
- Patient Access & Eligibility Verification: Confirm coverage and MCO assignment before every visit, including dual eligibles affected by 2027 D-SNP alignment.
- Charge Capture & Coding: Certified coders match CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes to documentation.
- Claims Submission: Clean electronic claims keep you on the 21-day commercial payment clock.
- Payment Posting: ERAs are checked against contracted rates; late payments are flagged for interest.
- Denial Management & Appeals: Denials are corrected with a record of every document previously sent.
- AR Follow-Up: TennCare claims are worked early, because the 120-day window closes fast.
- Reporting: Monthly reports on collections, denials, and AR days.

What Makes Our Tennessee
Revenue Cycle Management Different
One team owns every stage of your cycle, not just claim submission.
Full-Cycle Ownership
One team runs eligibility, coding, claims, posting, denials, and AR, so a problem found in follow-up gets fixed where it started instead of repeating on next month's claims.
BCBST and MCO Focus
We work BCBST commercial policies alongside the separate rules of BlueCare Tennessee, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan, and Wellpoint Tennessee, so each claim meets the requirements of the plan that covers the patient.
Filing Clock Tracking
Every open claim is tracked against its own deadline, including TennCare's 120-day window and its retro-eligibility start dates, so eligible revenue never quietly ages out without anyone noticing.
Monthly Reporting Cadence
You receive a clear monthly report on collections, denial rates, and AR days by payer, with plain notes on what changed since last month and what we're doing next.
Compliance Built In
Our workflows follow HIPAA requirements, the No Surprises Act, and Tennessee claims law, and we update them whenever TennCare, an MCO, or a commercial payer publishes a policy change.
Specialty Depth
Coders assigned to your specialty know its code sets, so they catch modifier errors and bundling issues that general billers often miss, which keeps more claims clean on the first pass.
Specialty Expertise That Works for You
