Reliable Revenue Cycle Management in Mississippi
Mediknocx manages the full revenue cycle for Mississippi physician practices, from eligibility checks to final payment. Our workflows are built around Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi, the state's largest private health insurer, and around Mississippi Medicaid, where most managed care claims now run through three MississippiCAN plans, including one that joined in July 2025.

Reliable Revenue Cycle Management in Mississippi: The 25-Day Electronic Claim Rule and a Reshaped MississippiCAN
Mississippi Code § 83-9-5 sets one of the faster commercial payment clocks in the country. Health insurers must pay a clean electronic claim within 25 days of receipt, or 35 days for paper, and must explain in writing what makes any unpaid portion unclean. Claims paid after those windows are overdue and carry penalties. That ten-day gap is one reason we submit every claim electronically.
Medicaid changed shape in 2025. On July 1, 2025, TrueCare (licensed as Mississippi True) replaced UnitedHealthcare Community Plan as a MississippiCAN and CHIP plan, alongside Magnolia Health and Molina Healthcare. Practices contracted only with UnitedHealthcare had to credential with the new plan. Fee-for-service claims go to the Division of Medicaid within 365 days of service, or 180 days from the Medicare paid date for crossovers.

What Makes Our Mississippi
Revenue Cycle Management Different
Here is what Mississippi practices get with our RCM team.
Full-Cycle Ownership
The same team handles eligibility, coding, submission, posting, appeals, and follow-up. You don't manage separate vendors, and no Mississippi claim waits between handoffs while its filing window runs down.
MississippiCAN Plan Tracking
We verify which of the three MississippiCAN plans covers each patient before the visit. Claims go to Magnolia Health, Molina Healthcare, or TrueCare under that plan's own rules and deadlines.
BCBSMS Claim Know-How
Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi carries much of the state's commercial volume. Our billers apply its medical policies, prior authorization rules, and claim edits so clean claims move quickly.
Clean-Claim Clock Monitoring
We log receipt dates on every commercial claim and flag any electronic claim still unpaid after 25 days. When a payer calls a claim unclean, we send the requested documents right away.
Monthly Reporting
Your monthly report covers collections, days in A/R, denial rates by payer, and aging buckets, with notes on which Mississippi payers are slowing payment and what we are doing about each one.
47-Specialty Coverage
Teams are organized across all 47 specialties we support. A Jackson cardiology group and a Hattiesburg family practice each get coders who know their code sets, modifiers, and payer edits.
Specialty Expertise That Works for You
Mediknocx supports all 47 specialties we serve, from family practice to cardiology, oncology, and radiology, with teams assigned by specialty.
How Does Mediknocx Ensure Compliance
With Mississippi Medical Billing Regulations?
No Surprises Act
Mississippi relies mainly on the federal No Surprises Act for surprise billing protection. We apply its rules on emergency care, out-of-network care at in-network facilities, and good-faith estimates for uninsured and self-pay patients.
Mississippi timely filing law
Medicaid fee-for-service claims follow the 365-day limit, or 180 days from the Medicare paid date. Commercial filing limits come from payer contracts, and we track each one.
Mississippi billing transparency
Under § 83-9-5, insurers must tell providers in writing why a claim isn't clean and what documentation they need. We use those notices to correct claims fast.
Payer-specific guidelines
We follow BCBSMS policies, the Mississippi Administrative Code Title 23 Medicaid rules, and each MississippiCAN plan's contract terms.
